The Chemin de fer Charente-Limousine is :

A team of voluntaries, railwaymen or not, enthusiastic about “The Railway”.The have created, in 1992, this association “type loi 1901” (not profit sharing)to save the existing rails Roumazières and Confolens.The “Vélo-Rail” has given life again to these rails in 1999. The association aims to replace 5000 sleepers in order

to put in service a touristic train combined with the “Vélo-Rail” traffic.The railway will thus find again its rightful place in local tourism and district economy. To continue the “Vélo-Rail” and put in service a touristic train,it is necessary to replace 5000 sleepers, for that, the association envisages to purchase the railway.We are actually a tenant of the “Réseau Ferrée de France”

It will cost 68.544,18 Euro (£ 39 500 ).Help us to save these 17 kms of Railway Patrimony with a donation.

Work in progress :

• Pruning along the 17 Kms of track.
• Enhance the brake system of our Rail Bikes.
• Repairing an "auto-rail Picasso" 3959 model X3800".

Long term plan :

• Creation of a third track to Lessac. (4 Kms of new track.)
